Is Tea Tree Oil the Miracle Cure You’ve Been Looking For?

Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, native to Australia. It has been a staple in traditional Australian medicine used by Aboriginal people to treat various ailments like coughs, wounds, and skin conditions.

Tea tree oil (TTO) is extracted from the leaves through a two-step process: steam distillation followed by vacuum distillation to decrease its boiling point. Moreover, tea tree oil is known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties to treat infections and wounds.

Tea Tree Oil Benefits and Uses

1. Makeup Remover

Tea tree oil is amazing for removing makeup because it hydrates the skin. Mix 4 drops of coconut oil with 5 drops of TTO and wipe off your makeup gently.

2. Cure Eczema

Recent studies have shown that tea tree oil (TTO) can treat eczema better than zinc oxide and clobetasone butyrate creams.

Mix 1 tablespoon of shea butter with 5 drops of TTO.

Combine the mixture and apply it to the affected area. Repeat this process 3 times a day.

3. Oral and Gum Infections

TTO is widely known for its healing properties; it helps slow tooth decay, relieve oral infections, and freshens breath by killing bacteria.

In a cup of water add 3 drops of TTO with 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Swish around your mouth for a few minutes and expel.

Notice

TTO is for external use only don’t swallow it.

4. Treat Acne

TTO is also awesome for treating acne scars due to its antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, making it significantly more effective than chemical products such as Benzoyl peroxide.

Sometimes itchy, dry scalp and dandruff are embarrassing things that can happen to us. Tea tree oil is beneficial to treat dandruff and moisturize the scalp.

Add 5 drops of TTO to your hair conditioner and leave for about 4 minutes then rinse.

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic remedy that is effective for toenail fungus and athlete’s foot.

Trim your toes that are affected by toenail fungus and apply TTO gently. Repeat the process twice a day for 40 days.

7. Tea Tree Oil as a Natural Deodorant

TTO is effective for body odours due to its fresh herbal scents that fight odours related to underarm perspiration because of its antibacterial properties that disinfect and cleanse the skin.

8. Toothpaste for Oral Health

Moreover, not only does TTO work as a natural deodorant, but it can also kill off bacteria in your mouth and give it a fresh scent.

To get rid of mouth odour and bacteria mix a few drops of TTO with your toothpaste.
