Homemade delicious orange caramel cake

It is a delicious orange caramel cake easy to prepare and it does not take much time. as it is orange season I wanted to take this opportunity and enjoy eating it with family and friends.


  • 3 eggs, room temperature.
  • 1 cup of flour.
  • 1/2 cup of milk.
  • 1/2 cup of oil.
  • 20 g of baking powder.
  • 125 g of sweetened yogurt.
  • Zest of one orange.
  • Few drops of orange blossom water.
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 2 oranges (you cut it into thin round slices ).

Ingredients of caramel:

  • 8 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 2 tablespoon of icy water.
  • Few drops of lemon.

1.First step:

preparation of caramel:

In a saucepan put 8 tablespoons of sugar and few drops of lemon juice cook in a moderate heat and let the sugar melt until it liquefies and caramelizes when it begins to turn amber-coloured to brown add 2 tablespoons of icy water and stir very quickly for less than one minute.

  • After that pour the mixture in a small baking dish and decorate with orange slices .



2.Second step:

Syrup recipe:

  • 1 cup of sugar.
  • 2 cups of icy water.
  • Flavorings: Slices of orange.


In a saucepan put 1 cup of sugar and 2 cups of water and flavor your syrup with slices of orange and let it boil for 10 minutes.

3.Third Step:


With an electric beater whisk the eggs with 5 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl until it becomes thick, gradually add milk, oil, zest of orange, few drops of orange blossom water, 125 g of sweetened yogurt, 10 g of baking powder and add one cup of flour and stir.


After that pour the batter onto the caramel and orange slices and bake it for 25-35 minutes until the top become golden-brown.

4.Fourth step:

Turn your cake into a serving plate and add the syrup all over the top and put it in the fridge for 3 hours and serve it with cream or orange slices.
