Creamy flan with caramel and slices of orange it is so deliciously yummy!

Caramel orange flan ingredients :

  • 1 liter of milk.
  • 160 gm of sugar.
  • 5 tablespoons of cornflour.
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • Pure vanilla extract.

Step one:

  • Prepare flan ramekins with this quantity you need (8) ramekins.
  • Cut the orange into round slices and put them into the ramekins.
  • In a saucepan put 130 grams of sugar in medium heat and let the sugar melt slowly.
  • Swirl sugar from time to time (not too much because if you swirl too much the sugar will crystallize).
  • Once the sugar is melted pour the molten sugar into the ramekins but not all the amount of caramel because we will need some of the caramel later on to prepare the cream.

Step two:

  • Place 1 liter of milk in a saucepan with 5 tablespoons of cornflour, 30 grams of sugar, and 1 cup of orange juice.
  • Stir constantly until the mixture becomes thick and starts to bubble.
  • Once the creamy mixture is ready remove the saucepan from the heat and add one tablespoon of vanilla extract and stir.
  • Now pour this mixture into the saucepan that contains the melted sugar that you have prepared before and stir rapidly. The hot creamy mixture will help the caramel melt again and the color of the cream will become beige to soft brown.
  • Pour the orange creamy mixture into each ramekin and put it in the refrigerator for 8 hours.

Invert you flan onto a dessert plate.
